2018 Summer Playoffs
Good Luck to all the teams participating in the 2018 Empire Softball Summer League Playoffs!
All Empire Softball Playoff match-ups are a best-of-three series, with the higher seeded team being awarded with home field advantage in games 1 and 3. A new softball will be provided for each game by the scorekeeper. There will be two umpires for all Championship Series games, and teams are responsible for the additional umpire fees.
Umpire Fees:
Round 1 (one umpire)
Game 1/2: $50/team
Game 3: $25/team
Championship (two umpires)
$40/game from each team
We are committed to ensuring a playoff series that is fair to all teams. For players to be eligible to participate in any playoff game, they must have played a minimum number of games during the regular season, at least one of which was prior to the roster freeze. Credit for games played was given to players that were on the team roster at the time of a forfeit, as well as for any game that was rained out and not made up.
Minimum Required Games
Divisions 18 and 19:
4 games played.
Division 1, 2, 3, 5, 11, 12 and 17:
6 games played.
Division 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, and 16:
8 games played.
Please check the eligible roster of all playoff teams below. All players are required to carry their ID at all games, and be willing to present it upon request. Any ineligible player that participates, or refuses to furnish ID at the field, will result in the forfeit of that game for their team. It is the responsibility of the team manager to ensure that everyone playing in a playoff game is eligible to do so.
If a team protests the eligibility of a player, it must happen during the game. ID will be checked and if the player is ineligible the game will result in a forfeit. The forfeit will only apply to the game which is under protest. A previously played game or game scheduled to play after the protest is unaffected. Protests after a game is ended will not be heard.
Playoff schedules are posted on the schedule page of your division. Please make sure you double-check, as some start times may be different than the regular season schedule in order to fit in a potential Game 3.
Prize Package: All Championship Teams will receive a trophy and full set of dry-fit championship tees. Teams have the option of requesting the quantity and sizes of their championship shirts, as long as that information is submitted to the league within 5 days of winning the championship.
All players from championship teams that attend the Awards Party Cruise on September 21st will be entered into a free raffle to win a full set of uniforms for their team (full-dye jerseys) courtesy of our friends at Orange Hammer Sports.
